School marks 50th year by sending quarters to sister school in Africa

Nativity of Our Lord School in Broomfield marked its 50th year during Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 27-31. The school’s golden anniversary was celebrated with activities fostering its goals of academic excellence, faith formation and service to others. The students had a “Quarters for Uganda” contest where each class collected quarters to send to their sister school, Nativity Secondary School in Uganda. The students raised $2,276. For each quarter collected, a link was added to a golden chain that was displayed throughout the school. Pictured are members of Mrs. Flesher’s fifth grade class who were the top collectors.
