Bronco player honors veterans battling homelessness

Broncos’ second-year safety Duke Ihenacho joined Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to celebrate veterans for their service. That evening, St. Joe’s Home for Veterans and Samaritan House homeless shelter, both ministries of Catholic Charities, hosted a dinner to honor the 69 resident veterans participating in organization’s rehabilitation program. Ihenacho is pictured here greeting veterans during the catered dinner, provided by Shamrock Foods, at the Samaritan House at 2301 Lawrence St. in Denver. St. Joe’s Home for Veterans at 4626 Pennsylvania St. in Denver—in conjunction with the Samaritan House and the Veterans Administration—empowers veterans to rise out of homelessness by helping them locate housing, employment and benefits; and establish long-term savings.
