On Christmas morning, Dec. 25, the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Communication will air a special hour-long TV Mass: at 7 a.m. in Spanish, and at 8 a.m. in English. The Masses will be shown on Colorado Public Television channel 12. They will be recorded from Denver’s mother church, the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
Since 1966 the archdiocese has offered a weekly televised Mass; it is Denver’s longest running local television program. During the rest of the year, a 30-minute liturgy is broadcast on Sundays: at 7 a.m. in English, and at 7:30 a.m. in Spanish. The viewing audience consists primarily of Catholics who are homebound and physically unable to attend Mass at their neighborhood parish. The TV Mass reaches some 20,000 households in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. Missals are available from the Office of Communications and can be requested by calling 303-715-3230 or emailing info@ archden.org. For more information, visit www.archden.org/tvmass.
