Pro-life generation gives voice to the voiceless

More than 20 young people—some pictured here—representing six area Catholic high schools and two universities gathered for an early evening prayer vigil April 26 outside a fundraiser for the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League (NARAL) at the Grand Hyatt Denver downtown.

Students for Life of America invited Colorado youth to join the vigil to display their commitment to abolish abortion in their lifetime during the VIP dinner for NARAL, a supporter of recently debated abortion rights legislation, Senate Bill 175 that died in the Colorado Senate April 16.

The VIP dinner included speakers: Gov. John Hickenlooper, Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colorado, and Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham, D-New Mexico.

Coming off Senate Bill 175, the faithful need to continue efforts to show the strength of their pro-life voices, said Lauren “Lo” Martinez, Students for Life regional coordinator.

“Never again will our local politicians come together to celebrate the promotion of abortion in our community without our presence being known,” she added.
