‘Souper’ kids fight hunger

Eighth-graders at St. Joseph School in Fort Collins raised $2,500 to help feed the hungry when they hosted the 12th annual Operation Soup Bowl April 2. For $20 for adults and $10 for students, the middle-schoolers served a meal of soup and bread at the parish hall; and sold pottery bowls—as pictured here with students Hannah Olsen and Molly Pike—that they handcrafted. Proceeds were donated to the Larimer County Food Bank and Catholic Charities Northern Colorado, as well as to families needing a holiday meal and homeless persons in the community.
