As with every year, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Shrine in Denver will host their biggest celebration of the year to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The celebration will begin on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. with a concert to Virgin Mary by the church choirs. At midnight, the traditional midnight Mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Bernard Schmitz.
On Sunday morning, after the 8 a.m. Mass, attendees will be able to be part of the traditional procession around the neighborhood. That same day, Dec. 12, the Shrine will offer Masses every hour starting at 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. All masses will be celebrated with live mariachi bands. There will be music bands, folk dancers (matachines), food and more to celebrate the patroness of the Americas.
Every year, thousands of faithful gather at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church as a sign of their devotion to Mary and celebrate her apparitions to Saint Juan Diego in 1531.
