Denver school gifted with iPads for every student
Annunciation School students work with their new iPads in class. All kindergarten through eighth-grade students received the tablet computers by the JDO Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching education by providing technology. Many students, who come from low-income and immigrant families, are not exposed to technology at home. Math and science teacher Robert Bernardin said in a video that the iPads are opening up new worlds to the students. “As an expeditionary learning school, one of the things we esteem above all else is this primacy of self-discovery and allowing students to take responsibility for their work and use their learning to produce something valuable… and these iPads allow us to do a lot more with that,” Bernardin said.
Catholic Schools’ Night at the Rockies

Catholic school students across Denver attended Catholic Schools Night at the stadium when the Colorado Rockies played the New York Mets. Partial proceeds collected from ticket sales that night helped fund the Catholic Schools Activities League, which is involved in co-curricular programs, activities and events including the academic decathlon, athletics, speech, spelling bees and arts fair.
