The Colorado Catholic Conference is actively lobbying for the Church in Colorado during the legislative session. The following is a list of bills that are of interest to the conference and lawmakers are considering this session. Click on the bill for more details.

Senate Bill 45—Creates income tax credits for private and home-school education.

Senate Bill 77—Creates a parents’ bill of rights related to the education, health care and mental health care of minors.

History: Passed the Senate, assigned to the House Public Health Care and Human Services Committee

House Bill 1112—Requires a physician to protect the life of an infant born alive after a failed abortion.
CCC’s position: Support
History: Killed in committee

House Bill 1162—Bans abortions based on the gender of the baby.
CCC’s position: Support|
History: Assigned to the State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee

House Bill 1171—Restricts a governmental entity from substantially burdening a person’s exercise of religion.
CCC’s position: Support|
History: Assigned to the House State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee

House Bill 1194—Requests funding for a program designed to expand access to long-acting reversible contraception, such as IUDs, for low-income women and teenagers.
CCC’s position: Oppose
