Gabriel House opening at Centro, volunteers needed

The Archdiocese of Denver continues to respond to the needs of pregnant women and mothers with limited support with the opening of a fifth Gabriel House. The new site will be located at Centro San Juan Diego, the Hispanic Institute for Family and Pastoral Care for the archdiocese.

“Besides the material, emotional and spiritual support offered through the Gabriel House, we will have the opportunity to open our hearts and support pregnant women and mothers with many other services offered here at Centro” explained Viviana Martinez, coordinator of Hispanic Family Ministry.

Centro has organized a meeting for volunteers seeking information about serving in this ministry of Catholic Charities. Interested individuals, particularly volunteers who speak Spanish, are invited to the informational meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Centro San Juan Diego, 2830 Lawrence St. in Denver. For more information, contact Mimi Eckstein, executive director of the Gabriel Project, at 303-377-1577 or visit www.gabrielhousedenver.org.
