Father Henri Tshibambe (below) tosses dirt onto a time capsule buried outside Our Lady of Fatima School Sept. 21 in Lakewood. Principal Lisa Taylor and students gathered items symbolizing their Catholic school and today’s culture in honor of its 50th anniversary. The capsule included items collected by each class—plaid uniforms, rosaries, a school lunch menu, a yearbook, popular movies and books, sports trophies, a copy of the Denver Catholic Register, writings from students, mementos from St. John Paul II’s canonization and an all-school photo. The anniversary celebration began with a school Mass and choir performance.
