Concerts to share message of Christ’s birth this season

Area churches are hosting performances by choirs and carolers to share the message of Christ’s birth this Advent season. Below is a list of some of the concerts scheduled for the coming weeks.

Advent Services and Carols
Celebrate the Advent season through song with the Chamber Choir 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 18000 E. Arapahoe Road, Foxfield. No tickets required. Call 303-766-3800 for details. The same advent performance will be held 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Christ the King Church, 830 Elm St., Denver. Call 303-388-1643 for information.

Christmas Concerts
The Canto Deo choir will perform sacred choral music for the whole family 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave., Littleton. Children may conduct the orchestra at the end of the concert. Order complimentary tickets for admission online at www.cantodeo.org. Call the parish at 303-979-7688 for details. Canto Deo will also perform a similar concert 4 p.m. Dec. 21 at Christ the King Church, 830 Elm St., Denver, and 7 p.m. Dec. 22 at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 18000 E. Arapahoe Road, Foxfield.

The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 1530 Logan St., is also hosting concerts this season. Organist Karen Beaumont will perform 3 p.m. Nov. 23 and organist Zoltan Varga will perform 3 p.m. Dec. 14. No tickets required. Call 303-831-7010 for more information.

Some churches are also offering carols before Christmas masses. St. Mary Church, 6853 S. Prince St., Littleton, will offer carols and concerts before its Christmas Eve Masses, Dec. 24. Call 303-798-8506 for information.
