The Archdiocese of Denver Office of Communications will provide two opportunities for area Catholics to participate in Christmas Mass from Denver’s mother church, Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception: Midnight Mass will be streamed live on the Internet, and a special hour-long Mass will air on TV Christmas morning. The Vatican also announced worldwide telecasts of events presided over by Pope Francis to air on Christmas and New Year’s days.
Denver Midnight Mass livestream
Beginning at 11:45 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, the Office of Communications will broadcast Midnight Mass with Archbishop Samuel Aquila live on the archdiocese’s website, www.archden.org. The Mass, which begins at midnight, will be preceded by a prelude of hymns performed by the Cathedral Basilica’s choir.
Denver TV Mass Christmas morning
On Christmas morning, Dec. 25, a special hour-long TV Mass will air at 7 a.m. in Spanish, and at 8 a.m. in English. The Masses will be shown on Colorado Public Television Channel 12. During the rest of the year, a 30-minute liturgy is broadcast Sundays at 7 a.m. in English and 7:30 a.m. in Spanish. The TV Mass reaches 20,000 households in Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming.
