Catholic publishers and other suppliers are firming up their special offers for the inaugural Catholic Store Month, which begins July 1 and runs through the entire month.
“As we said when this initiative began, Ignatius Press recognizes the urgent need to help Catholic stores compete in the wider retail marketplace,” said Anthony Ryan, Ignatius Press marketing director. “Physical retail stores are vital to the free exchange of Catholic ideas. So Ignatius Press is increasing its store discount up to 55 percent in July… to give stores the opportunity to pass savings along to their loyal customers while also reaching new customers.”
Ryan added that Ignatius Press will also provide stores with special products free of charge to help with in-store promotions. He noted at least three other Catholic publishers who will be sending free books to participating Catholic stores.
A group of Catholic suppliers has agreed to join with hundreds of Catholic stores for Catholic Store Month. Among the 250 participants who will receive discounts from vendors are Word on Fire, Ave Maria Press and the Chastity Project.
Terese Dutscheck of Catholic Word Publisher Group said, “We did not know how many stores and suppliers would participate in this first effort. We are very happy with the positive response we have gotten so far. And the list is still growing.”
Organizers plan a radio advertising campaign, along with direct consumer outreach to publicize the month-long event. For further information and about participants, visit www.catholicstore
