Catholic Charities needs cold weather donations as extreme cold settles in

Updated: Jan 5

With temperatures expected to dip dangerously low this weekend in Colorado, warming centers and shelters are opening along the front range for those in need.

Governor Polis issued a disaster declaration on Thursday, which activates the Colorado State Emergency Operations Plan and authorizes the use of the Colorado National Guard to help people stay safe during this deep freeze.

Catholic Charities of Denver is providing shelter at Samaritan Houses in Denver, Fort Collins, and Greeley. They have been able to help more people in recent weeks thanks to generous donations, but they still need more winter weather items!

ITEMS NEEDED: Coats, hats, gloves, and other cold weather items

DONATIONS ACCEPTED: 2301 Lawrence St., Denver

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (M-F) and 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Sat. & Sun.)

Catholic Charities is also grateful for financial donations to help them feed, shelter, and support our neighbors in need across northern Colorado. Please visit ccdenver.org/donate to learn how you can help.
