With the end of June comes the end of Catholic media awards season, and we're excited to share that the Archdiocese of Denver's publications, Denver Catholic and El Pueblo Católico, have taken home 37 awards — a NEW record!
We're honored to be recognized among the hundreds of incredible diocesan and national Catholic publications! We're especially pleased that our Director of Communications, Kelly Clark, was named Communications Director of the Year; El Pueblo Católico was recognized as first runner-up Spanish Publication of the Year; content from our February 2024 Denver Catholic, which centered on the sacrament of Matrimony, was named Best Explanation of Marriage; the Abbey of St. Walburga was honored two-fold — with an honorable mention for the Wisdom from Walburga series, and a Third Place award for Best Photo and Story Package by an Individual; coverage of the Colorado leg of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage was honored multiple times; and our exceptional design team was recognized with multiple "sweeps" of layout/design categories!
"I’m delighted by the outstanding results of this year’s Catholic Media Association awards. Throughout the year, our team poured their hearts into sharing faithful, authentically Catholic journalism — supporting the ministries and mission of the Archdiocese with dedication and care," said Kevin Greaney, Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for the Archdiocese of Denver. "Kelly’s recognition as Communications Director of the Year is particularly commendable. To our readers: thank you. Your support gives our work meaning. We look forward to continuing to share stories that inspire, inform, and deepen our shared journey of faith."
And we couldn't do any of this without all of you, our readers! We're grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement, and remain humbled to serve the Church in Northern Colorado. We're inspired by your faith and all the ways that the Lord is moving throughout the Archdiocese of Denver! There are so many beautiful stories to tell, and we're honored to share them, all for the glory of the Father!
