36th Annual Serra Salute Dinner to celebrate and support vocations and honor Cardinal Stafford, Deacon Stemper

The courageous response of men and women to the Lord’s call deserves celebration and support. Thanks to their generous yes to God’s plan, countless individuals come to know him more deeply.

Behind every “yes” to God’s plan, though, is a community that has made that yes possible! Whether through prayer, encouragement or financial support, the faithful continue to participate in God’s plan by supporting individuals discerning vocations.

That support is crucial for the Serra Trust for Vocations. The organization is dedicated to supporting young men and women discerning or in formation for the priesthood, diaconate, and religious life.

“The purpose of the Serra Trust for Vocations of the Archdiocese of Denver is to foster and promote religious vocations to the Roman Catholic Church,” said Paul Bergman, one of Serra’s leaders. “It accomplishes this by providing financial assistance to young men and women in formation or discernment for the priesthood, diaconate or consecrated life. So that their vocations will not be discouraged for reasons of financial hardships, the Serra Trust Fund can provide this assistance.”

On Tuesday, September 24, they will celebrate the 36th Annual Serra Salute dinner at the Denver Athletic Club to raise funds to support vocations and honor two distinguished individuals for their remarkable work in promoting Catholic vocations.

Cardinal J. Francis Stafford, archbishop emeritus of the Archdiocese of Denver, and Deacon Steve Stemper will be recognized for their tireless work to foster vocations across northern Colorado. Their unwavering commitment has been instrumental in encouraging and supporting those answering the call to religious life.

The only Serra fundraising event of the year, the Serra Salute Dinner allows the archdiocesan community the opportunity to come together in prayer and support of those who so courageously follow the Lord’s will for their lives. With no administrative expenses, 100% of every financial contribution supports archdiocesan vocations. Attendees directly contribute to a vital cause while honoring those who have made significant strides in supporting the future of the Church.
