The generosity to the 2020 Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal exceeded expectations and helped accomplish ministry needs during an extraordinary year.

“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).

Appeal donors have answered the call of the Lord to share His message of love to their neighbors in an abundant way. In the early days of the 2020 Appeal, donors stepped up and the Archdiocese was able to distribute the first $1 million raised as emergency funding to all Archdiocese of Denver parishes.

The parishes shared numerous notes of appreciation for the emergency funds that arrived at a critical time. The charitable acts of Appeal donors rekindled hope in the faithful and enabled the archdiocese to meet other significant milestones.

As in every year, the archdiocese advanced the works of more than 40 ministries like Catholic Charities, 36 Catholic schools, seminarians on their way to priesthood, and Catholic brothers and sisters throughout the Church of northern Colorado. But in 2020, donors showed significant growth in a range of ways such as: the total number of donors and new recurring monthly gifts. The Appeal leadership giving society, the Choirs of Angels, experienced a leap in members too.

These significant strides throughout 2020 enabled a rise in program funding across archdiocese ministries and special new funding, like an additional $170,000 in teacher support for the dedicated teachers who are forming more than 8,500 Catholic youth in Colorado.

Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal donors have shared their genuine sense of concern for their Church and her faithful with their financial sacrifices and prayers in 2020 and the Archdiocese extends its profound gratitude.
